Chromebooks: Old Username Message

If a user logs into a Chromebook and gets the message, “To unlock and restore your local data, please enter your old Chromebook password” that is because a file or multiple files have been saved to the local device instead of to Google Drive. To avoid this, make sure to save all of your files to Google Drive. To bypass this message and login to the device, click the “Forgot old password” link (beneath the “Enter old password” text field), click the “proceed anyway” link on the following screen, and then login normally.
