Apps & Software: Vetting Applications, Websites, and Extensions

Ensuring that applications, websites, and extensions are vetted is crucial to protect students' privacy and security. By going through a vetting process, we can confirm that these tools comply with Connecticut's student data privacy laws, which helps safeguard sensitive information. It also ensures that the tools we use are appropriate for educational purposes and meet our standards for quality and safety. Ultimately, vetting these resources helps create a secure and productive learning environment for our students.

The following link takes you to the Connecticut Learn Platform.  If you are not already familiar with this site it is a free platform which provides information on software/sites that are compliant with Connecticut’s student data privacy law. (click here for more information re: Student Data Privacy) In order to utilize a site/software with students logging in, it must be compliant.  For example ReadWorks is not compliant, so students should not be signing into the platform. Teachers/Staff can log in and utilize resources with their students by downloading them or displaying them on a screen.
