CT Learn Platform: Requests for Applications and Websites for Student Use

All applications, websites, browser extensions and any other form of software which require a student login or student information must be first approved by the Connecticut Learn Platform. This vetting process safeguards the privacy and security of students, as well as ensuring that product is appropriate for educational purposes. The Connecticut Learn Platform it is a free tool which provides information on products that are compliant with Connecticut’s student data privacy law. You can access the site by clicking on this Connecticut Learn Platform link and using the “Sign in with Google” option.

If you are not taken directly to the Connecticut Library page, click your account name in the upper-right corner of the screen and choose “Connecticut” under the Organization drop-down menu that appears. You may need to login again, using the “Sign in with Google” option.

If you are not already on the Products page, click Products>Connecticut Library in the upper-left corner of the screen and then click the Connecticut Library tab, if it isn’t already selected. You can then search for the product that you wish to have approved in the “Search by product or company name…” field in the Connecticut Library.

In order for a site or software to be approved for CSDNB students, it must have the green “Compliant – CT Pledged” badge displayed (see the area circled in red in the first image, below). If the site or software does not appear in that top results section it is not approved by the Connecticut Learn Platform.

If you see a result in the LearnCommunity Library (the area circled in black in the first image, below), click on the tile to open the product menu (see the second image, below), which has four options: DETAILS, GRADE, COMPARE, and REQUEST. Click the REQUEST option to request that the product be approved for use in Connecticut.

If you do not see a result in the LearnCommunity Library, you can click on the Missing Product? tile that appears (the area circled in purple in the first image, below), to submit a request to have a product added and reviewed. Once you receive a response that the product has been reviewed, let us know and we will make the product available.
